What qualifications do I need to become an agent?

Basic qualifications include:

Active P&C license
Insurance requirements (E&O coverage in place with $2M aggregate liability limits, Cyber Liability)
Experience as an agent/running your own business
Completion of our agency appointment questionnaire

Our agency application process is not a rigorous process, and we can help guide you through completing
the application. We look to do business with agencies that are front line Underwriters and have a vested
interest in growing a profitable book of business with us as a long-term business partner.

How does the commission structure work?

We offer a very competitive commission structure by line of business for new & renewal business.
We also offer a competitive Contingent Commission Bonus for agents who qualify based on Written
Premium, New Business premium, positive loss ratio, and growth.

What kind of support will I receive?

We offer support in various forms.

We provide training with our Underwriting teams who offer assistance with systems training as well as
UW Guidelines.
Our Marketing team offers discussions with Appetite and marketing opportunities such as community
events and various sponsorships.
We look to have our newly appointed agents visit our offices to meet the staff. This is still very much a
relationship industry/business, and we look to grow and strengthen such relations along the way.
Meeting the teams in-person where/when possible is the preferred method, but we do offer
TEAMs/virtual sessions to meet the staff and assigned Underwriters.
